When it comes to verbs, learning Spanish can seem a bit confusing and overwhelming for most English speakers. English conjugation is simple in comparison and when you are trying to learn a lot of vocabulary and conjugation at the same time it can be tough. I find it has helped now that I’m only concentrating on a little bit at a time. Get the basic verbs in first.

I graduated with a degree in Italian, but it wasn’t easy. I put a lot of work into it and I am putting a lot of work into Spanish now. Writing info out on the web helps a lot with my skills so each time I meet up with my Spanish friends I feel a bit more confident now and they correct me less and less all the time. I’m still miles away from being able to have a deep philosophical conversation, but when it comes to talking about places to go in Buenos Aires, food or wine I feel like a porteño (native of Buenos Aires)! There are 3 basic forms of regular verbs in Spanish; -ar endings (hablar), -er endings (comer) and -ir endings (escribir). Study the simple past, present and future tenses below.
